Mazun Gateway · Emirates ID masking
Emirates IDs and IBANs in supported chat text are masked before a model sees them
Mazun Gateway sits between your staff and the model. In supported chat text it masks Emirates ID numbers, IBANs and other details, then puts names back in the answer.

Mazun Gateway
Masks supported sensitive data in chat text, including Emirates ID patterns and IBANs, applies your policies, and stops the request if a check can’t run.
The model
Only masked chat text and allowed files reach the model
Names come back in the answer, so staff get a reply they can use.
Try it: type a name, an Emirates ID, an IBAN or a phone number.
Nothing you type leaves this page.

Illustrative: pattern matching, not validation. This demo spots a few common formats in your browser; it is not the product’s detector. Mazun Gateway does the real masking inside your deployment.

What is masked in UAE chat text, and what is not
Mazun Gateway inspects supported chat text before it is forwarded to a model provider. This page covers two formats it recognises, Emirates ID numbers and IBANs, and what happens to them.
The Emirates ID number
An Emirates ID number is fifteen digits, written in groups, with or without hyphens or spaces between them. Mazun recognises that pattern in supported chat text and masks it before a request reaches a model.
The IBAN
UAE IBANs are recognised by their layout and masked in the same way, along with other bank and card numbers.
Also masked
- Names, phone numbers and email addresses in the message.
- Employee and customer IDs, dates of birth and addresses.
- Private keys and common API keys and tokens.
What pattern matching means
Mazun finds the format; it does not check that a number is genuine or has been issued, and the lists above are not a complete account of every kind of personal data. A number in an unusual form can be missed, and some other fifteen-digit numbers may be masked too.
What the model and your staff see
For supported chat text, the model provider you approve receives masked text only. Names come back in the answer; the tags the model sees, such as [PERSON], are never shown to staff. Chat history is kept in your deployment.
What masking does not do
Masking applies to supported chat text. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF files are checked before a model sees them. Images and voice are not inspected. It reduces exposure; it does not remove every risk, and it is not a certification.
Questions
Questions on UAE masking
What does Mazun Gateway mask for UAE teams?
In supported chat text: Emirates ID numbers, IBANs, names, phone numbers, emails, card numbers, employee and customer IDs, dates of birth and addresses. Private keys and common API keys and tokens are caught too. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF files are checked before a model sees them.
Does Mazun check that an Emirates ID is real?
No. The number is recognised by its format, which is pattern matching. Mazun does not validate it, and the list of what is masked is not exhaustive.
Does it find an Emirates ID written with spaces?
Yes, the demo above shows one. Hyphens, spaces and no separators are all recognised in supported chat text. A number written in an unusual way can still be missed.
What does the model provider receive?
For supported chat text, masked text only. Staff see real names in the answer because Mazun puts them back, and the tags the model sees are never shown to staff.
Can masking miss something?
Yes. It works on the formats Mazun recognises, so a detail in an unusual form can be missed, and some text that is not sensitive can be masked. That is why your own policies still matter.
